Last day of Summer for some of us this year 🥺⁣

Can you tell this is my favourite season, maybe it has something to do with being an August baby… I’m all about that sunshine ☀️💯⁣

While some people welcome the colder 🥶seasons, viewing it as an opportunity to cozy up under a blanket, many people find that the shorter days and gloomy weather can negatively affect their mental health and well-being 😔⁣

Every year, when the sun sets before 5 p.m. during those initial days after the clocks are turned back, it can be quite a surprise and shift for our systems. ⁣

I’m definitely among the people who feel the negative impact of the lack of sun ⛅accompanied by the expected rain and wind typical of the season ☔🍂💨⁣

So I thought I would share a few of my tips to support you in maintaining your mental health and well-being as daylight hours diminish.⁣

1. Balance your diet 🫐- Keeping your blood sugar balanced is key in your mood and overall well-being (type RESET in comments if you need help with this)⁣

2. Maintain or increase your Vitamin D ☀️- Get your levels checked and aim for optimal ranges (80-150 nmol/L)⁣

3. Get outside 🍂- Don’t let the weather hold you back as breathing in the fresh air will do you plenty of good 👊⁣

4. Make sleep a priority 😴 – Do your best with going to bed at the same time every night and waking up at the same time every morning. Limit screen time at least one hour before shutting down and consider magnesium or melatonin to support your sleep quality. (Type PURE REST if you need help with your sleep)⁣

5. Move your body 💪 – Exercise has countless benefits for our mental health and overall wellbeing. The key is to find something you will commit to and/or someone that will hold you accountable.⁣

💡Bonus – Surround yourself with good peeps… people who lift you up and feel like sunshine 🌞 for your soul! Limiting negativity and drama is an all-year-round win 😉💯⁣🙌

I’m curious, what season is your favourite of them all?? 🌞🍂☃️🌷⁣
